Baby Boomers: How to Keep Yourself Young

November 30, 2017

Heart, Body, and Soul

We are the baby boomers – we were born between the end of the second world war and the late 60s. We are entering or are already in the senior population. But do we feel useless and old? Not at all!

We have become health conscious – well, many of us have (!) – but some are still taking medications and feeling things in our bodies that just don’t match what’s in our hearts and souls. We may still be working, whether we have to or not.

I, a baby boomer, found out that I have some pretty awful genes with most of their switches on. But I always knew I wasn’t going to die from my autoimmune condition. In fact, I learned that genes have on and off switches, and that I can “modulate their expression” through dietary choices, supplements, energy approaches, and other things.

Yes, it was a sacrifice to make such lifestyle changes and keep them going enough to start and maintain the healing process, and after some starting and stopping, I managed to kick a pattern of healing in gear. The docs said it couldn’t be done (I was expected to die in 2003), but I didn’t listen. Instead I marched to the beat of my own drummer.

It took me a while to figure it out, but I am proud to say that I have kicked my disease to the curb and am now enjoying unprecedented good health. I’m not done yet, either. I still want to heal a bit more – which will make me feel more like I did in my 40s – and I know how to do it!
